AUTUMN GOSPEL
During this retreat we will reflect on the spiritual dimensions of women’s middle and later years. Through music, ritual, prayer, and meditation we will explore the place of transitions, prayer, mourning, remembering, care giving, and intergenerational connections as each relates to the spirituality of women journeying from the first half of life into the second. “Autumn Gospel” by Kathleen Fischer is a resource.

November 30-December 2, 2007
JOURNEY INTO JOY
This retreat is for all of us who find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and holiday preparations. It offers us an opportunity to leave our homes for the weekend and to enter into the solitude of our heart. In this solitude we will prepare for the feast of Jesus’ birth. We will gaze upon the ‘Star of Bethlehem’ and listen to God who speaks to us of those people who longed for the coming of the Messiah, and of attitudes that were reflected in their lives. We, as Christians, are called to imitate them during this holy season of Advent.

December 8, 2007, 10AM – 3PM
GOD-CHOSEN WOMEN OF JUDEA
Our reflection and prayer this day will carry us back to 1st century Judea where Mary of Nazareth and her cousin Elizabeth live. There, in the company of these God-chosen women, we will be reminded that we, too, are God-chosen people. We, too, are called to give birth to Emmanuel, and to give witness to the presence of God among us. T’is a perfect reflection at the beginning of this Advent season!

February 15-17, 2008
REMEMBERING THE WOMEN
This retreat invites us into the beautiful and inspiring - and sometimes difficult and painful - stories of women who are remembered in the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. They are prophets, queens, midwives, warriors, prostitutes, virgins and heroes. Their stories challenge us to make our lives and the lives of others whole, to shape our world into a global community of love and to build up the Body of Christ.

March 1, 2008, 10AM-3PM
LENT: A TIME TO PONDER AND A TIME TO WONDER
Lent is a season that invites us to experience ever more deeply the Essence of Love. During this day of prayer we will have time to ponder what we know and to wonder what we believe about the mystery of God’s love given to us through the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ.

June 12-15, 2008
HAVING A MARY SPIRIT
This retreat will launch you toward lasting personal transformation – a complete and holy makeover from the inside out! Using Having a Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver as a resource, we will reflect on the stories of Mary, mother of Jesus, Mary, sister of Martha, and Mary of Magdala whose experiences with God transformed their lives. Through the stories of these women we will learn how to experience hope, healing, transformation, and joy.

July 6-16, 2008
INDIVIDUALLY DIRECTED RETREATS
retreats of five or eight days for men and women
This retreat is a time of solitude and personal prayer planned by you and your retreat director. Suggestions for your prayer may be chosen from Scripture or other spiritual resources including the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. During your retreat you meet each day with your retreat director who helps you discern the movement of God’s Spirit within you. The Cenacle Sisters together with the Staff at Ignatius Retreat House serve as retreat directors.

October 17-19, 2008
PRAYING WITH THE PSALMS
The Psalms are inspired texts that have for centuries offered Jewish and Christian people words with which to pray. Their timelessness gives us entry into a personal conversation with God in the midst of everyday life. In them we hear the many cries of the human spirit and the hymns and prayers of joy exultation and praise. During this retreat we will reflect on and pray with the Psalms – ancient prayers in which we speak our own yearnings, longings, feelings of gratitude, loneliness, fear, joy, and so much more.

December 5-7, 2008
IN SEARCH OF OUR KNEELING PLACES
This retreat offers you an opportunity to pause from the fury of Christmas shopping, baking, and tree trimming to listen to and reflect on the Word of God spoken to us by the prophets. Through their powerful prose and poetic images the prophets mediate for us a spirit of hope and joy, peace and patience, “The Lord is near! “

December 13, 2008, 10AM-3PM
JOURNEYING FROM ADVENT HOPE TO CHRISTMAS PEACE

Our reflection and prayer this day will center on the infancy of Jesus, as proclaimed by Matthew and Luke, as well as the meaning of Jesus’ incarnation for us today.
