The ancient art of calligraphy can be used to unify the hand with the heart and mind. In this way, meditative calligraphy can bring one's self into harmony with the present moment. At the same time, as seen in the mission of the Cenacle prayer enrollments, calligraphy can be part of a prayerful connection to or remembrance of a loved one. We are having NEW Calligraphy Workshops at the Chicago Cenacle. Introduction to the Pointed Pen will introduce the student to the tools and techniques of this delicate and graceful script, charaterized by thick down strokes and hair line up strokes. You will learn to utilize the pointed pen to produce a unique and personally distinct script. As with our previous workshop, this new class will give you a glimpse into the ministry of the Cenacle Prayer Office in a calm and meditative environment. A $60 donation is requested for the 4 week class. This includes the cost of supplies. We will continue to offerc the Calligraphy as Prayerful Meditation workshop also. For this single day class, a $10 dontation is requested. All ages are welcome; don't be shy if you are a beginner. Space is limited, so give us a call soon at 773-549-0725 or e-mail us at prayercardoffice@cenaclechicago.org. The Fall dates for classes - All Classes are 11-12:30:
