Afternoon Tea at the Cenacle

This very popular event was attended by 120 ladies.  Some groups of Red Hat ladies traveled all the way from LaPlace and Ama, Louisiana to attend.  The House bustled with jovial conversation, lilting harp music provided by Patrice Fisher, and scrumptious sandwiches, scones, and pastries donated by eight local businesses including Byblos Market, Chez Rurene Bakery, Coffee Rani, Dorignac's Food Center Bakery, La Madeleine French Bakery & Cafe, Maurice French Pastries, Whole Foods Market, and Zuppardo's Economical Supermarket. Door prizes were awarded to Tea attendees as has been the custom over the years. Fabulous door prizes were donated by the Court of Two Sisters, Marian's Monograming & Embroidery, Mule's Religious & Office Supplies, New Orleans Museum of Art, Vincent's Italian Cuisine, The Tale of Nada Nutria, and the Cenacle Retreat House.  Door prize winners were Pat Trahan, Claire Orth, Ellen Crossin, Cheryl Dugas, Myrtle Lehmann, Gail Finn, Maddie Fabre, Anna Joubert, Marie Gallagher, Eva Hodgson, Joellen Chaffin, and Mary Ann Stengle.  Congratulations to all!  New this year was a 50-50 raffle, and the lucky raffle winner was Pat Geier.

Next year, the Tea will be on Sunday, July 26, 2009. Make your reservations early. This event sells out quickly!
