Soundings from the Cenacle in South Florida
Yes, we are still here and as busy as ever! Besides our regular ministry of spiritual direction, retreats, days of prayer, courses and workshops, we wanted to share with you some of this year’s other highlights.
Provincial meetings in Chicago gave us the extra opportunity to connect and share with many of our Cenacle sisters throughout our country.
Returning to our Cenacle in Tuscany with Luciana Duce-Dugan to offer the Praying with Art Retreat gave us the same opportunity at an international level.
Another one of our special joys was participating in Sr. Kara McKenney’s first vow ceremony at our Cenacle in Houston, Texas.
Some of you may remember Kara for her healing massages given during retreats here in Lantana.
An evening at Temple Emmanuel helped us remember the Holocaust and also served to honor the Righteous Rescuers whose courage saved the lives of many Jews during World War II.
An ecumenical Thanksgiving service at the Quaker Meeting House and a Prayer Vigil sponsored by Pax Christi gave us a better understanding of so many local faith communities working for peace in this world.
A morning at the courthouse gave us the opportunity to speak out for social justice and against wage theft.
Early this winter we were delighted to welcome our General Government. The 5 sisters living in Rome at the present represented the countries of Ireland, France, Philippines, Madagascar and the United States.
This was such a wonderful way of experiencing our worldwide mission.
The 3 week seminar on writing a spiritual autobiography led by Dr. Lee Prescott took wings and now has become a monthly gathering for writers.
The Imaginarium was another great event at which time the Cenacle art group presented the fruits of their two year innovative experience of meeting the Creative Spirit.
This evening was received with great enthusiasm and awe.
