Discover the Poet Within:  A Beginner-Friendly Workshop

Have you ever thought about writing a poem but feel you don’t know how to begin?  Or perhaps you’ve written a poem or two and want to learn more about the basic craft.  Or maybe you read poetry for its own enjoyment, or as part of your prayer practice.  Whatever your attraction to poetry may be, this six week experiential workshop will joyfully encourage the hidden poet within you.   From reading, discussions, exploring poetic craft elements and experimenting with writing your own poems, we will journey together to discover our unique poetic voices.

“You can find poetry in your everyday life, your memory, in what people say on the bus, in the news, or just what’s in your heart.” —Carol Ann Duffy

When: Weekly on Thursdays (October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 3, and 10)
Duration: 2-hours each week (10am – 12noon Central)
Format: Online via Zoom
