“I have often encountered the God of “surprises” but nowhere am I ever more surprised by God than when I am praying with art materials. “  H.M. Art & Prayer Retreat participant.

 

Collage is an intuitive, creative and exciting process of  revealing and concealing, adding and subtracting until the mysterious result emerges from the layers. In working with a variety of media, altered images, materials and objects you will explore and nourish the fertile inner landscape of your soul, the womb of  your

deepest  hopes and dreams. Collage as Mystery will help free your imagination and allow your inner artist to soar. 

 

Date: Thursday April 21 & Friday April 22, 2022

Presenter shall detail what retreat materials (collage art supplies) registrants need; acquisition of materials and the cost thereof is the responsibility of each registrant.

Time: 11am – 3pm Eastern (10am – 2pm Central)

Duration: 4 hours each day (total: 8 hours)

Maximum number of online retreatants: 12

Minimum Offering: $65

 

Supply List

 

BASIC SUPPLIES:
(You can use any of your existing art supplies as listed below)

Foam board  cut to 16” x 20” or larger

Adhesive:  Any of the following: Glue sticks, tacky glue, textile glue modge podge, etc.

Acrylic paints – assorted colors of your choice

Oil pastels –assorted colors of your choice

Scissors

Assorted brushes and  small, disposable foam brushes

 

COLLAGE  and Embellishment MATERIALS:
(These are suggestions…bring
any items that attract your soul!)

Any of your former paintings or works on paper that you feel comfortable cutting.

Assorted found paper goods (pieces of wallpaper, old playbills, old greeting cards, postcards, hand-made paper fragments, decorative papers, maps, menus, itineraries, etc….use your imagination!)

Old photographs or photocopies of old photos of yourself, family, friends, pets, etc.

Pages from magazines, newspapers, books, that hold an interest for you

Any pieces of interesting fabric

Old jewelry, sea shells, feathers, etc.

Ribbon, string, dried flowers, etc.

Old stamps, stickers, notecards, etc.

By now you should have the idea of the type of materials to bring…please don’t make this a chore… have FUN collecting materials!

 


About the Facilitator:

 

Luciana Duce-Dugan is a classically trained Fine Artist, Spiritual Director and Retreat Facilitator.  She holds an inter-disciplinary Master of Arts Degree from a joint program of the Institute of Fine Arts in NYC, The Graduate Faculty of the New School and an internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She received her certification in Spiritual Direction from St. Thomas University, Miami.  She encourages all her students to discover their unique creative gifts and authentic artist’s “voice.”  Luciana facilitated the annual Cenacle Art & Prayer retreat and painting workshops in Tuscany.
