zDiscover the Poet Within: An Introduction

Details

Have you ever thought about writing a poem but feel you don’t know how to begin?  Or perhaps you’ve written a poem or two and want to learn more about the basic craft.  Or maybe you read poetry for its own enjoyment, or as part of your prayer practice.  Whatever your attraction to poetry may be, this introductory workshop will joyfully encourage the hidden poet within you.   From reading, discussions, and exploring poetic craft elements we will journey together to discover our unique poetic voices in this one hour online program.

“You can find poetry in your everyday life, your memory, in what people say on the bus, in the news, or just what’s in your heart.” —Carol Ann Duffy

All are welcome; no previous writing or exploration in poetry is necessary to engage in this offering.

When: Thursday June 16
Duration: 1-hour
Format: Online via Zoom
