The Charism of the Cenacle: Its Ministry and Spirituality

The charism of a congregation cannot be defined – but it can be described through its ministry and spirituality.

The ministry of the Cenacle is to awaken and deepen faith through retreats, catechesis, spiritual direction and other means of faith formation. The purpose of the Cenacle is to help persons address the meaning of life and find their way to the peace of Christ.

The spirituality of the Cenacle blends the biblical mystery of Mary, the Mother of Jesus in the Cenacle, the apostolic vision of our founders and the Ignatian influence. The insight of our foundress, St. Thérèse Couderc – expressed in her text on self-surrender – gives this spirituality a special character.

Throughout Jesus' ministry we see him not simply providing "enough" but providing extravagantly. This overflow, gathered in baskets, continues to be available through us.

How are we called to make God's present in our circumstances?
